Have your say – William Osler Health System Survey

Preliminary site work is underway on Brampton’s second hospital – a significant project that will bring Peel’s nearly 100-year legacy into the future with the construction of a multi-storey patient tower with room to grow, new and expanded outpatient services, and Brampton’s second 24/7 Emergency Department.

Building Brampton’s second hospital will bring a significant boost in services for patients, and will be larger than many other community hospitals in Ontario.

Osler is going through the stages of clinical planning for the new hospital and all required approvals with the Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario. Input from our community is always important during this process and we’re looking to hear from you on your new hospital’s look, feel and function.

Player Profile

John Tavares launched a new chapter in his NHL career on July 1, 2018, when he signed a seven-year, $77 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team that the native of Mississauga, Ontario, grew up rooting for.

Tavares was one of the NHL’s top stars during nine seasons with the New York Islanders, who selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 2009 NHL Draft. He had NHL career highs in goals (47) and points (88) in his first season with the Maple Leafs and was named Toronto’s captain on Oct. 2, 2019.

Tavares become the 107th player and 13th active to score 400 NHL goals in Toronto’s 5-2 win at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 15, 2022. He had two assists in his 1,000th NHL game, a 5-1 win against the Washington Capitals on Jan. 29, 2023, becoming the second player in Maple Leafs history with multiple points when reaching the milestone (Tim Horton, two assists, Nov. 19, 1967).

Tavares’ transition to the NHL was smooth; he had 24 goals and 54 points in 2009-10 to finish fifth in voting for the Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s top rookie, and was named to the All-Rookie Team. Among NHL rookies he was tied for first in goals, second in points and third in assists (30).
