Tickets now on sale as the fifth annual charity game returns to raise funds for Brampton’s
second hospital following a record-breaking $6.7 million raised in 2025

BRAMPTON, ON (July 8, 2026) – Hockey Night in Brampton is adding even more star power to the ice, welcoming former NHL players Joe Kocur, Kirk Muller, Ryan Getzlaf, Dylan Strome and Cody Hodgson to this year’s lineup, with Toronto Maple Leafs legends Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark returning as coaches alongside Gary Roberts.

With championship pedigree, Maple Leafs nostalgia and a cause close to home, this year’s roster gives fans another reason to fill the CAA Centre for a night of hockey, hometown pride and support for local health care. These celebrated players and coaches bring decades of experience, leadership and unforgettable moments to the ice, setting the stage for another high-energy summer tradition in Brampton. Additional current NHL players will be announced in the coming weeks.

Each year, Hockey Night in Brampton turns a summer evening into a citywide show of support, drawing NHL alumni, local leaders, sponsors and residents to help advance Brampton’s second hospital through the William Osler Health System Foundation.

Player Profiles

Ryan Getzlaf

A Stanley Cup champion, two-time Olympic gold medallist and one of the NHL’s premier leaders of his era, Ryan Getzlaf was drafted 19th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2003. He went on to play his entire 17-season NHL career with the franchise, serving as captain for 12 years. Getzlaf retired in 2022 as Anaheim’s all-time leader in points (1,019) and assists (737). He also represented Canada on the international stage, winning gold at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.

Cody Hodgson

Selected 10th overall in the 2008 NHL Draft, Cody Hodgson played six NHL seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres and Nashville Predators. A former captain of Canada’s National Junior Team, Hodgson was recognized for his offensive skill and leadership throughout his career.

Joe Kocur

A three-time Stanley Cup champion and former Detroit Red Wings enforcer, Joe Kocur is known for his toughness, leadership and championship pedigree. Over his 14-season NHL career, Kocur earned a reputation as one of hockey’s most respected power forwards and remains a fan favourite for his grit and dedication to the game.

Kirk Muller

A veteran of more than 1,300 NHL games, Kirk Muller enjoyed an accomplished career as a player and coach, including serving as captain of the Montreal Canadiens and winning the Stanley Cup in 1993. Known for his skill, leadership and hockey IQ, Muller brings a wealth of experience to this year’s event.

Dylan Strome

Drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 NHL Draft, began his NHL career with the Coyotes before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in November 2018. He excelled with the Blackhawks, recording 51 points (17 goals, 34 assists) in 58 games during his first season. Over the next few seasons, he continued to contribute despite injuries, amassing 38 points in 2019-20 and 17 points in the shortened 2020-21 season. 

Coaches

Wendel Clark

A beloved former Toronto Maple Leafs captain and one of hockey’s toughest competitors, Wendel Clark returns to the bench for Hockey Night in Brampton. Known for his physical play, scoring ability and leadership, Clark remains one of hockey’s most recognizable figures.

Doug Gilmour

A Hockey Hall of Famer and one of the most iconic Toronto Maple Leafs in franchise history, Doug Gilmour returns to Hockey Night in Brampton with his trademark competitiveness and leadership. His legendary career included more than 1,400 NHL games and over 1,400 career points.

Gary Roberts

A Stanley Cup champion, three-time NHL All-Star and one of hockey’s most respected power forwards, Gary Roberts joins the bench for Hockey Night in Brampton. Drafted 12th overall by the Calgary Flames in 1984, Roberts played 1,224 NHL games over 21 seasons with Calgary, Carolina, Toronto, Florida, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, recording 910 points.
