Norris Trophy winner Mark Giordano and Stanley Cup champion Kirk Muller join Hockey Night in Brampton on August 19

BRAMPTON, ON (August 14, 2026) – With less than a week until puck drop, excitement continues to build for Hockey Night in Brampton as former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman and Norris Trophy winner Mark Giordano and Stanley Cup champion Kirk Muller join the starstudded lineup for the August 19 charity game in support of Brampton’s second hospital.

Fans can look forward to a packed night of hockey and entertainment, featuring NHL stars and hockey legends, pre-game autograph sessions and a live intermission skills challenge featuring renowned stickhandling specialist Pavel Barber.

Canadian sports broadcaster Rod Black will also return in his signature role as event host, bringing his energy and personality back to Hockey Night in Brampton.

Tickets are $36 and available through Ticketmaster. All ticket proceeds will support the fundraising campaign for Brampton’s second hospital. 

The first 2,000 fans in line when doors open will receive a limited-edition mini hockey stick.

Live intermission skills challenge with Pavel Barber

Renowned stickhandling specialist and Canadian national athlete Pavel Barber will showcase his skills during a live stickhandling challenge at intermission.

407 ETR, the official Meet and Greet Sponsor of Hockey Night in Brampton, will present two public autograph sessions before puck drop:

  • 6 to 6:30 p.m.: Paul Coffey, Ryan Getzlaf and Joe Kocur
  • 6:30 to 6:55 p.m.: Wendel Clark, Doug Gilmour and Gary Roberts

Star-studded lineup

Giordano and Muller join a star-studded lineup led by Team Captains Mark Messier and Morgan Rielly, alongside NHL stars and rising talent including Dylan Strome, Owen Power, Erik Gudbranson, Michael Misa, Pavel Mintyukov and Stephen Halliday. The lineup also features hockey legends and fan favourites Paul Coffey, Curtis Joseph, Ryan Getzlaf, Joe Kocur, Kris Versteeg and Cody Hodgson, PWHL stars Emily Clark and Jaime Bourbonnais, and more.

Brampton talent will also be well represented with Phil Oreskovic, Ethan Czata and Steelheads goaltenders Neilan Johnson and Oskari Ahmajärvi, while Shoresy star Terry Ryan and CP24’s Steve Ryan round out the roster. Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark and Gary Roberts will be behind the bench as coaches.

Player Profiles

Mark Giordano

Mark Giordano is a veteran NHL defenseman, Norris Trophy winner and former Toronto Maple Leaf. A Toronto native, Giordano spent much of his career with the Calgary Flames, where he served as captain, before becoming the first captain in Seattle Kraken history and later joining the Maple Leafs. Known for his leadership on and off the ice, Giordano was named the NHL’s top defenseman with the James Norris Memorial Trophy and was also recognized with the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award.

Kirk Muller

Kirk Muller is a Stanley Cup champion and six-time NHL All-Star who enjoyed a long and successful NHL career, including time with the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. Muller helped Montreal capture the Stanley Cup in 1993 and later transitioned into coaching, serving in several NHL coaching roles. His leadership, experience and longstanding connection to the game have made him a respected figure in Canadian hockey.
